I have had kessil replace 3 350w tuna blues in less then 7 months and now i have another one s!#t out so once again they r sending me a new one ,but that dose not help me if it keeps happening, I talk to customer service they say to keep them clean so I've been dusting them with air duster every week when I do my 20 percent water change , and today customer service told me I might be cleaning them too much you wouldn't think keeping electronics pretty much dust free would hurt them , anyway today customer service told me that there is nothing they can do other than send me a new light, and they will continue to do this until I no longer have a warranty , from the sounds of it I'll be replacing LED's more frequently then most people do a metal halide makes me sick /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sick.gif so if u are looking for customer service these are the lights but if you're looking for a product gonna last long time definitely not it from my experience so far I have a 2 year warranty but I replaced all 3 not cool ,,,,, on the plus side 1 that work actually do grow coral and give off good color ,,,worse than wrecking a car when my tank has problems/DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crying.gif if any one else has had these light let me no what's your experience is Ben good or bad ,, and what i could possibly do about getting my money back warranty for 2 years oldest 1 isn't even 8 month old and to be honest I think they're all about 6 months old because I have them all replaced

With the suppost to b liquid heat sink and the can its self being one big fan you wouldnt think there would be much of a problem with heat,,also even with out changing setting or power of the light they run hotter every week ,,after the second one i was looking for the problem so i looked at heat, dust, power level and called kessil to get there advice ,as u can tell it didnt help ,,

I have 4 of the a150 over my tank. I had problems with one being really blue after 6 months
so I emailed kessel & they called it "LED specteral shift" they sent me new one.
mine dont get to hot at all. but I'd imagine the 350s get twice as hot.
customer service is great. I really love the lights but crossing fingers that rest don't go bad after warranty is up.
    Good luck

What is happening to the lights? Are they just dying?

I'm by no means an electrician, but what do you have it plugged into? I've seen posts where reef controllers have been responsible for putting out too many volts. Is there anything else plugged into the same circuit pumps/powerheads/heaters that stray voltage could be causing some electrical interference? I would think after 3 times that it's something with your setup causing it, not necessarily the light itself.

The lights r just dieing not the power supply I'm not a rocket scientist but I'm using the same exact power strip as I use for to 250 watt metal halide I would think they would pour a lot more power than 90 wants a piece and the other ones that are still in the tank seem to work fine .from what I've seen the 150 s work great 350 seem to be garbage I'm looking for new lighting system now should have never sold the mh and the 150s i had ,

Sorry that wasn't written very clearly... LED's in general are very susceptible to burning out if the proper voltage isn't delivered consistently....Yes, the light SHOULD have means to protect that type of thing from happening, but then again, the light SHOULD not just burn out for no reason either.

Having other items plugged into the same power source could be causing surges or fluctuations causing your kessil light to burn out...

It just seems very unlikely that after 4 attempts with the same model that you would just happen to receive malfunctioning units all 4 of the times. You would think the company would discontinue making the lights if they offer a 2yr warranty and they are consistently replacing them under warranty.

Anyways, hope you figure something out with it!

I've a Kessel 150w Ocean Blue over my biocube 29G since my HQI broke. So far so good but it's only been a month. My clam has responded well to the light as have the other corals in my tank but again it's only about a little over a month.

i have two A350w's on my 120 and i got them in june of 2012 and they are still runing strong...for me i use a can of compressed air (the kind you get at computer supply stores) and blow it into the vents once a month...you would be surprised the amount of dust that accumulates inside them. i think they require some maintenance. in my opinion they are excellent lights compared to the aquaticlife junk i dealt with when i first bought lights...but thats a whole different story. i should knock on wood though after saying that i have had nothing but good luck with kessil lighting and if these ones go down on me i will replace them with kessil's as well.
