We are trying to win grant money for our farm. Voting online like this is so dumb but what can I do?

 

I agree completely. I discussed this at length with the contest board before the decision was made to do it this way. It makes everyone involved look stupid. Here I am going around asking people to vote for me. I feel like a fool and it questions the integrity of our farm, which we use as a teaching tool and as a business.

On the flipside, we have generated 2500 votes which is incredible word of mouth advertising. Hopefully some of this pandering will turn into profit. It is all about networking really. After Obama visited our farm in April 2009 we saw a huge increase locally in the interest level of organic food, the farmers market, and our business.

But still, this vote thing sucks!
