I was lokking at ordering some more aqua ray led strips and was wondering if anyone other than Berberich and I were running these.  I would love some input from another trusted club member vs a review from Joe blow.  I know Berberich keeps sps under his, and is quite sucessfull.  Just lookin for some input before I empty the wallet to buy some more.[IMG]  Thanks, Quam

Yea let us know how they work. Where do you live? Do you have access to a PAR meter by chance? It would be nice to have some solid numbers to put to these lights. I've done a ton of research on LEDs recently, so it would be cool to hear how these work for you.

I recommend Aquatic Illuminations for LED fixtures. We've got them at Craig's store and they're pretty awesome. Each fixture uses 78 watts and the PAR readings are crazy high. They are more controllable than these LED strips are, the AI LED's can have thunderstorms, cloudy days, simulate sunrise/sunset, and everything in between.

I live in Mount Vernon. I've only heard of the ai fixtures from girs people. Do the ai leds use the cree technology as well? You can do all the dimming, lightning and sunset stuff with these strips as well. I was lookin for another led that might perform as well or better for less money. I might be wanting to have my cake and eat it too.

ps I cant wait for the store to open- right now I drive to Davenport to AE.

Well we're somewhat open, just not for regular hours yet. We've got a lot of stuff in stock, but we don't have everything we're going to carry yet. We've got a lot of shipments coming in this week with an opening coming in about 2 weeks. You'll definitely know when we're open! The AI LEDs are priced at $500 per fixture and $80 per controller. This is by far the cheapest I've ever seen it, I see them at $630-$700 everywhere else. The AI's use Cree XP-E for whites and XP-G for the blues.

Thanks Adam, I will definitely be stoppin by the store then. Thats the website I've been usin. What are the dimensions of that 500 dollars fixture? The aquarays use those crees but come in 12 watt 5 led strips. This makes it so you almost have to run a canopy if you want it to look nice. Thanks for the info, see you guys soon! Quam

Make sure if you're coming in you let us know first to make sure someone's there, we're not open for regular hours quite yet. We'll be getting the store phone installed tomorrow so you'll be able to call to see who's all there until we're fully open.
