I can at least hopefully get the powercord together unless that needs any soldering.

    Bears,
I built one in my biocube 29 it is actually isn't too bad if you are considering it. If you have any questions about it you can shoot me a note or are in/near or visiting the CR area welcome to stop by and check them out. For a BC14 you wouldn't need many LEDs. 12 would probably almost be enough I have 24 in mine and find I have to keep them dimmed down a lot to keep my corals happy it's so bright. Another thing nice with the BC, is you can mount them in the existing hood like I did it is so close to the water you don't have to worry about using a lens.
    Kylie,
Put me down for Monday, I get off around 4 so I'll stop at home see my family quick, then stop at Deb's grab my stuff and head your way. PM me directions and address so I know where I am going. Thanks.
PS Your wiring looks very nice hard to tell that is your first attempt!!!!!

So im kinda interested in how you guys avoid cascading failure from the LEDs sense you wire them in-line. LEDs do suffer from diminishing return so how do you know they are all working properly?

Finally!!! They are up and running and in the tank! And they look amazing!!!! I swear, even after being POed all day for not having his whimpy MH lights on, my clam (who has been rather clamped all since MACNA) opened up more than I've seen him in a while after just 10 minutes of being under his new LEDs. And they are only on at about 50%!!
Anyway, here are some pics [IMG] Please ignore the cyano in the tank shots and the random wires. It is all clean and organized now thanks to lehrjet! You rock!!
    Installing the heat sink[IMG]
Installing power cords, drivers, and fans[IMG]
Finished product hanging in my canopy. Wires are still a little messy but trying to find ways to clean them up without it being too permanent.[IMG]
A really blurry picture of my tank with the lights on at 50% power. I'll post better pictures tomorrow when they've had time to adjust to the lights. Like I said earlier though, my clam is already sooooo happy under these new lights. Can't wait to see what he looks like when I come home tomorrow after he's had all afternoon under them [IMG][IMG]

All pictures were taken with my phone btw so everything looks much better in person. That last picture does not do it justice at all. I'll try better tomorrow.

You should! I am so happy I decided to go with these.

Weirdest thing about it though, is the color changes. Some of my corals look so much different under the new lights. And... my fish is a different color!!! I have a green clown goby that I named Thane after the green assassin in Mass Effect 2 (video game). But now he looks blue!! Its so cool and weird. He is actually a lot prettier now, which I didn't think was possible because before he was a really nice green and pink striped. Now he's blue and purple stripes. Very neat.
