So a while back (at the 2008 business meeting) we did a group order of some berghia's.    I foolishly tried to get them to breed instead of just letting them loose in the tank and I ended up loosing all of them...    A costly mistake.
    Fast forward to 2011...
At the business meeting yesterday, Tasha6 hooked me up with 10 HUGE berghia at an awesome price.   I put 3 of them into my frag tank on a small rock and the other 7 in my main tank on a small rock.
They all disappeared quickly, but this morning, I picked up the rock in my frag tank and there is a HUGE spiral of berghia eggs on the bottom!  Hopefully they will hatch and start an all out assault on my aiptasia infestation!
    Thanks Tasha!!!

I don't think she has any more at the moment, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time. Hopefully after a while I will have some available as well. Once the aiptasia in my tank are gone, I'd prefer to see the berg's make it to other club members tanks.

As for the PM's, I'd try again. I know I forget to reply to PM's all the time because I read them when I don't have time to reply.

Yeah I shot her one over. She doesn't have any more right now. It was some moths ago we talked via PM initially. I am sure she just forgot. In any case, best of luck /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

    Bela,
I want you to know I haven't forgot about you and you are next on the list. [IMG] JB had talked to me at fall fest and and then you contacted me a week or two after.  I do have a list going as to who is interested and when I have talked with them.  I just haven't had as many as I was hoping for and am in the process of trying something a little different hoping that more of the eggs hatch and the little ones survive.

They are a nudibranch that feed exclusively on Aiptasia...   If you can get them established in your tank, they are 100% effective because it's all they eat.

When they run out of aiptasia to feed on, they will die unless moved on to a new supply like AJ said. I prefer to use my zapper ;-0)

Unfortunately in a tank like mine, natural control is the only feasible option.

Well, if all goes as planned I should have some available before too long. Then again, if things don't go well I may be back at square one.

Ideally, I'd like to see the club have 2 or 3 breeding populations of berghias available at any given time...

I just looked at the 3 rocks that I but the Berghias on... In the display tank, I couldn't find any of the berghia themselves, but I did find 2 more spirals of eggs. In my frag tank I was able to find 2 of the berghia plus 3 more spirals of eggs.

I would think that out of all of those, some will survive, so hopefully things are off to a great start...
