Set up 58 corner bow front a couple of weeks ago.  Checked it without water, it was level.  Added sand and some water and checked it again, it was all level.  Added rock and filled with water, it was level.  Just for kicks i checked it again the other day...it's not level now. [IMG] It's on carpet so I suppose it settled.
What's the possibility that I can shim it with the water and rock in it?  I could take some of the water out but if I can do it with water in  that would be great.  This all makes me so nervous but I do want it as level as possible.

I'm terrible at measurements but if this is the level the straight line is about where the bubble is { l     } I THINK it would take a couple of shims to get it level.

Remember of course you have to level the stand and not the tank. I am sure I am MR Obvious here, but the mistake has been made several times.

This is my personal opinion, but if you are that close in the bubble I would leave it.

50+ gallons with rock, sand, water, and stand, you are talking over 500 pounds easy. Best way to do this would to try and rig up a car jack to help with the lifting, or just drive shims in with a hammer (use 6" cabinet shims, and not the 2" standard door and window shims). I would suggest finding urself some shims, shim it, and then place in some plywood (of whatever thickness is required) to place in next to the shims to offer more support over a larger area to keep the stand from cracking/breaking/warping.

Yes, I know to level the stand and not the tank. I also know not to rig up a car jack..lol I can see disaster happing if I would try anything like that. Bravo if you are brave enough to try it.

I think I will try to hammer a shim in with it full...GULP. Maybe just one to give myself peace of mind.

wow i havent heard  mr obvious in a long time lol.  im with xroads unless you can see the water line below your trim i think youll be fine. but shimming wouldnt hurt anything if you could get them under.

I had a tank that settled out of level after a week or so. I did not get around to trying to do anyhing with it and the other side also ettled out and the tank leveled back out. I would not worry to much. Shaun

After going back and forth all day I think I will leave it and hope for the best. I guess i wouldn't worry so much if it wasn't a bow front. Thanks for all the thoughts /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif
