I'm new to Des Moines so I'm not sure of what the local stores are. I know of Iowa Pet Foods and Seascapes, but that's it. I was just wondering if anyone knows what stores will do trade-ins for store credit?

If you got store credit I think it would be a gift. Most LFS hate the idea of the trade in.

AFAIK Seascapes does not to trade-ins.

However when I stopped into The Ark in Ames last week to drop off flyers, they were closing up that location and moving to Boone, and I think they open this weekend. They are planning on setting up more SW tanks and a frag tank so they might do something for you...

I am just wondering for future reference. When I lived in Dubuque I world just take my stuff to Aquatic Environment or Coral Haven. I was also wondering because I bought a clown from Seascapes thinking it was smaller than my current clown and it isn't. They are about the same size so both are likely female. They keep fighting so I was checking if it would be possible to trade one in for one that is smaller.

They may not be female... clowns fight until the dominant one turns js.

I had a pair fight for months and now they are a bonded pair

Well I had one singly for about 2 months. From my understanding that is long enough for it to become female. Once female there is no going back. I should've just gotten the smallest one I could get to add in. That way it is likely gender neutral or male. I had to move the new one to my refugium until I figure something out for it. It got beaten up pretty badly. It's fins and body were torn up. It's been in there for about 2 weeks now and it's healed up pretty well.

I've had 3 mated pairs of clownfish before and none of them ever fought this intensely. I just feel bad so once this one is healed 100% I'd like to get it a better home than my refugium. Then I will get another small clown to add to my main tank.
