So I have an Oceanic Biocube 29g HQI and my fan started making a huge noise last night and I found plastic pieces on the lid of my tank. So I'm guessing it's broken. Fan still works but extremely noisy. Sent an email to Oceanic to see if they will cover but wanted to know if I have to replace it would another HQI light be the best or does anyone have a better idea.

I have a clam, several LPS, and softies.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

On ebay I've seen the fans. This is a common thing that I've read with biocubes as the fans go ouy and its suppose to be an easy fix. Mine has been replaced.

Thanks for the response. I was doing a little research tonight and found out the fans can be replaced. It's my first experience with HQI. I sent an email so hopefully it will be covered under warranty if not I'll just purchase one.

I would assume it would run too hot without a fan?
