Im going to start a refugium in my sump to grow copepods. I have a power compact i could use but i would rather use something with bulbs that are cheaper. I figure for this purpose their isnt any point in useing something that takes high price bulbs. What are others out their useing?

I think you could use a shop light for a fuge. or maybe one of those clip on reflector type lights people use for reptiles?

I use a clamp light and a 75 watt compact fluorescent 'daylight' bulb. Works pretty well and fairly cheap.

I used to use the clamp on style reflectors which you can buy from any local hardware store along with a screw in style 6500k PC outdoor flood light bulb. It grew macro algae very well, and was very cheap to buy as well as run.
