I had a power compact system with day/atnic/night.2*96W. I switched over to a mh 150w 20,000k light. That i made into a pendent. Nothing is as bright or coming out like it did before. Is there a reason for this? DO i need some atnics still on the tank or night lights? Just seems like the tank isnt as nice as it was before the light switch over. Any advice is welcomed.

Todd, are you running a lens cover or a lid on the tank?

HQI bulbs give off uv rays, and must be filtered. I had a peace of plexy over my 30g.
If you do then I would say that it is light shock, You could try raising the light some to see if that helps then over a few weeks time lower it a little each week.

i have a strip of glass running down the center of the tank, the strip is from the original glass cover and the light is 7 inchs of the water. So that could have some to do with it. ALso i think i agree very much with you of that of light shock.
