Anyone know a source of live bloodworms preferably in the Des Moines Area?

I am not sure about blood worms but Aqualand has live black worms. I just bought some last night.

I am using a Kemps Sea Squirt to feed my Copperband Butterflyfish black worms. The prong sticks out far enough that I can prop it in my tank and let the worms come out naturally for him to peck at. I lean it against one of his favorite rocks he likes to peck at. He is not confident about eating them out of the water column yet, but he will get a couple that way so it is a start. Good luck feeding yours!

Good news. He loved them. Bad news is that he has lymphocystis. Hoping that keeping him well fed and the water quality high he will recover from it.

Glad yours liked the worms, mine did too but he is not as hungry today, I am assuming it is because he ate like a pig yesterday. Good luck on the lymphocytes I read adding a supplement to the food source can help build their immune system. I bought Selcon to try out because I read it was good to soak the black worms in it and that the fish get more nutrition and are more apt to eat.

More good news. The lymphocytes are almost gone and he is eating hikari frozen bloodworms and mysis soaked in selcon. Other brands worms and shrimp I figured out are too thick for his liking.

I should try Mysis, so far mine only likes live black worms. I tried soaking them in Selcon but he prefers them with out. He is pretty small though so I am thinking as he gets larger he may take different food. Glad yours is eating and getting healthy again!

A while back I saw people getting longnose/copperband butterflies eating with a short piece of pvc with holes drilled all over and the ends capped. Good luck.
