   it's a constant learning process. next question, should I regularly, irregularly, not at all, blow dust or sediment off my liverock?

   I would blow off your rocks every time you do a water change. Thats just me though, I'm definately no pro.

   I blow off the rocks each time I do a water change and try to siphon as much detritus out as I can. If you have a lot of detritus, you could always blow the rocks off and run a cannister filter to get it out.
