I am preparring to build a surface skimmer, overflow box, sump system, and a larger protein skimmer and need some materials for constructing some of these items. Some of my research tells me that I need to look for cell cast acrylic. Does anybody in the Cedar Valley area know of any local sources to find sheets and tubes of acrylic? I order a lot online, but if there is a local source for them...I would rather do that. Does Hobby Loby have the materials I would need?
One other thing, I believe it is ok but want to check first. Is regular PVC safe to use? Do you use the same primer and glue that is used for plumbing? Obviously, I don't want to introduce anything toxic to my system.

I am not sure about tube. But I get all my sheet stuff at Regal Platics in Evansdale.  Ask for Denny & tell him Craig from Crossroads Auto sent you.

He has a ton of stuff in the scrap pile that he sells for around $1 a pound.  I can usually find pieces big enough for most my needs in there.  Take cash & it might be cheaper.

They also sell the weld on.
Yes regular PCV glue & primer is reef safe after it dries.
