So,   in AE yesterday- they have some very nice large colonies of SPS.  The more that sell, the more Adam will order.
We are hoping locally we can be using club members to "group buy" these and split them up and save indivdual costs, eventually gearing the local market to the rarer SPS stuff..  AND also help convince Adam there is a sustainable market for higher end SPS in the Quad Cities.    The colonies are still pretty large cut in half.  I am probably going to get 2 to 3 now and have some of the other halves spoken for. (large colorful acro colonies...)  there is a super large blue acro we could probably split 3 or 4 ways.
If anyone is interested in this now, or in the future let me know.
I am just VERY excited they are starting to get nicer SPS colonies in.

    likely 70-130 divided by# of people /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

If we do this on a somewhat regular basis... we can cherry pick things pretty well.

Hmmm, I might be interested, depending on what was available. Great idea, at any rate!

I might be up for something like this. But will need to see pics and have the name of the coral before I commit to anything.

BRad, here are the pics for you- every one else.. bad cell phone camera pics- colors not quite as deep as in real life- but a taste of what we can get more of hopefully.
1- purple, deeper in real life.   3" or so
    [IMG]
2- red planet??? type.    I think that is your deepwater in front of it for reference. i want to say 3-4" wide
    [IMG]
Blue.    5" x 3-4 " at the top or so,  this one has more potential... and is the most fragable.    I THINK this one will fill in a nice nice nice teal in a sps tank.

They did have a 1 foot+ mili I was not interested in.. but not from suppliers

    but, point noted.

colonies. "large" was meant to say larger than other stock they have been getting through suppliers like ORA... IE large enough to split several ways and still have enough to make it worth while.

I am *very* up for this idea, but its going to be some time before my tank is ready for sps. Mark me down as a "future", but if our monthly meetings turned into a $30 and take a big bag of frags home.....I won't complain.

that would be Matt H. All the Matt M colonies should have been picked up or hold removed.

so, there are some ways we can move about this in the future... (and I also have some other ordering options for cheap sps up my sleeves.. I may talk with BRad about some, and do some group orders )

we can wait till we have club meetings, or just post or pm on here if you want help buying some stuff /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif.
