Yeah I was not expecting to much for 70 bucks! Its not HD so will see how it does. Is it tricky to set up? I have read it can be?

I have 3 of those setup. They work great for monitoring both my tanks and my fish room when I am gone on vacation or at work. They also work great in the Apex dashboard panels. I setup 3 different panels one for each tank and camera and one for my fish room and camera.I had one for about a year and got 2 more black friday I haven't had any malfunctions with them.

lol when I first posted it I used the Attachments button as JB always says. I used my phone to see if it would work for some reason. I don't know why I would think it would work on a mobile device, but I was mobile so I tried it anyway. After seeing it didn't post a picture at all at this point I moved to my Laptop. I tried using the attachment button Idea again. Long story short i ended up using the copy paste method from Photobucket. It seems 80% of the time the attaching photos via Attachment button don't work for me for some reason.

Thanks for noticing my wet wipes Matt! lol /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

I see it is 640x480 and under good lighting its not too bad. I only paid 70 bucks shipped from Amazon.com after watching the price go up and down since Christmas. It finally got to 69.99 and i got it.
I had mine up and running in less then 10 minutes, but spent around an hour setting it up as I want it to be over my network. Static IP and such things.
I was also thinking it had zoom.. silly me! Looks like I may get the HD one next maybe. I really wanted it to kill to birds with one stone. Looking after my house and fish tank on vacations.

I originally bought the 9821W(720p HD) camera because I wanted the higher quality video myself. But the camera doesn't work with the Apex dashboard because it outputs the video in H.264 and Neptune doesn't support it. I even had Russ from Reeftronics.net look at ways to make it work and even he was stumped. To be honest, it was very hard to tell the difference in video quality between the HD camera and the SD camera. Just trying to save you a few bucks is all. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif Oh and I have 2) of the 8910W and I am happy with them!

I have two of them as well. The video quality isn't great but I am not trying to impress anyone with a crystal clear real time tank cam.

I use one on my DT and the other on my sump. I got them for when I go on vacation....you can get data from your apex and then confirm with the cameras. Also if you had to walk someone through a pump switchout or similar it would be handy.

I also figured out my purple tang was the one beating everyone up by watching from work. Damn fish. He's gone now. Trapped him in part by watching his habits remotely as well.

Very nice! I used to work for a security integrator, so I've been playing with this a lot lately. I have a cheap-o camera set up at http://173.17.114.73 for now. Still playing around with the focus. Usually you can see my Blenny darting around or sitting on top of the magfloat on the left.

If you want something really cool and pretty easy to use I would recommend Milestone software. They make a version called XProtect Go that is free and perfect for home use. You can use up to 8 cameras and store video for 5 days. But the best part is that they have a mobile app that you can run on iOS or Android where you can see all of your cameras from anywhere. Very handy stuff.
