Anybody have a large eel they are looking to get rid of? Preferably a zebra or snowflake, but would consider others. Has to be large, I just got a 9" or so snowflake and unfortunately my grouper decided he would be a tasty snack /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif

Rob (Doubldn) has (or had?) a large and very cool snowflake that he was willing to sell awhile back. Not sure if he still has it or not though.

I've got a monster Gymnothorax Prionodon I'd let go for the right $. Probably 3'.

How big is the Grouper? He may experience the circle of life.

Haha yeah you might be right. Those guys are pretty aggressive aren't they? My vtail grouper is about 10" or so. Eats anything his size or smaller! I would probably have to move my panther for sure, he's bigger, but a wuss.

Not sure what thier "typical" temperament is supposed to be...... Very little info out there on them. I've never even seen another in the hobby. I know mine is fine with eels that are too big to eat. It actually ate a 1.5' Fimbriated Moray, killed a much gerthier Mexican Dragon that was about the same length, and attacked my baby Whitemouth.. I had him with a Hawaii Dragon, African Horned, and Brazilian Dragon and everyone got along fine, but they're all around 2.5' or more.

IF your fish are 10" or larger I'd guess they'd be fine....... He was fine with a 6-7" Porcupine Puffer for a long time. Girlfriend wants another puffer so "Barney" is now residing in a 75 and would probably really appreciate a larger tank......

Lol, Barney! Yeah I could barely even find info on them. He seriously ate a 1.5' yellow head?! That's crazy! I actually had to get rid of my yellow head a year ago because he cleared out my tank, ate a giant yellow tang, a large foxface, and a smaller snowflake.

I might have to go back to an eel only tank for him. Go ahead and send me price, might consider it, not sure yet

Here's an older video...... Barney's the greenish-purplish fella, and is bigger now. When we acquired him he was too small to house with any of the other eels. He quickly became the largest and begin eating the smaller eels, and even the Lion Fish.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7y7aR1uLVE4

I made a thread on here like 6-7 months ago trying to sell him and had no takers at $250..... Not sure I could justify selling for a whole lot less but I suppose $200 could work. He's definitely not a common eel. I swear I saw one on Divers Den go for $600.

I'd love to get a Tessy to house him with but with all the FW stuff going on here I'm only allowed 1 salt tank and it belongs to Mr Nibblez the Dragon that's been with me for like 7-8 years and he just seems like a much happier eel with Barney out of the tank.

My only stipulation would be IF you decided to get rid of him I'd want first crack at buying him back.... /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif

That Dragon has some pretty nasty teeth, but there's freshwater stuff here that makes that eel look like a saint. His teeth are small compared to Payara and jaw strength is nothing compared to Aimara........
