Does anyone remember what Anthony said about "WATER AIREATION" at Fall Fest?
    How long to airate?(Spelling)
Do you airate the prepaired salt water or the RO water? (Again my spelling is'nt the best)
Your help will be greatly apprecated!
    Thank you, John

    Hey John,
My understanding is to aerate the prepared saltwater. Your RO/DI unit strips the solids from the water, but it also strips the oxygen from it too. In my saltwater prep tank, I keep a Maxi-Jet 1200 running near the surface with an air tube and venturi connected (comes in the box with a new Maxi-Jet) to allow air into the water stream. This shoots lots of air into the water and it seems like it does a pretty good job. Now, if the Maxi-Jet is too deep in the water, the water pressure will prevent it from pulling air through the line, so keep it near the surface. As far as how long to aerate, I heard overnight was sufficient, but I'm sure you could probably do just as much in as few as a couple of hours.

    Good luck.

HE recommended aerating top off water as well I do believe.

I've heard not to make it up too far in advance because the calcium and other minerals can get deposited in the container instead of in your tank where you want them. That being said, I'm not sure of any hard guidelines on that.

Anthony said to aerate both RO tanks (auto top off tanks) and salt mix tanks. you can use a air stone at the bottom of you RO tank, and use a power head in your salt mix tank. The Idea is to keep the water moving to help aerate it. As far as the length of time goes as long as it is kept moving by a pump, (so as not to get stagnant) you can keep it as long as needed. I have a round 25g plastic mix tank and I a new batch every month as it gets low.

From what I remember I think he said 4 hours was all the RO needed before adding to your tank for makeup water.
