I have been running a aquapure denitrater . Had it on a fish only tank to help with nitrates. Didn't really reduce them just kept them from climbing back up once I got them down . I had it hooked up on reef tank also when first started it , but unplugged it couple months ago to see if still needs it. So now going back on fish only tank because haven't had them climb in reef . The major thing with this one at least is it uses vodka is sugar water to feed it . Just have to inject it 2 a week . If I would have known I probably would not have gotten it and just vodka dosed by it self . If having problems with nitrates just get a phosban reactor and use biopellets .
