I've tried this before, but let's try it again. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/smile.gif

Does anyone in the CR/IC area have a population of Stomatella Varia in their tanks? They are most commonly hitchhikers, but I just can't seem to get my hands on any. Let me know if you do and would be willing to part with a few.

    Thanks!!

These guys, for those who may not know.

    Very hard to find.
I just recently found one in my tank and it's been up like 6yrs.
Usually spot em at night but they r super fast as far as snail speed goes.
    Excellent grazers.
    Good luck

I've recently noticed quite a few in my tank.. I think they must be populating.

F.D., I know right, why are they so stinking hard to find?

Lee, if you are able to get a population going, I'd love to get some off you. The reproduce readily in tanks when they're happy. I used to have a nice population that bred regularly. I didn't have to buy snails for quite a while.

Stomatella are awesome. They're quick, come in different colors, breed readily, and best of all: they never end up dead on their backs!!

My hermits discovered they were tasty one day and that was the end of that. I haven't bought a hermit since, and that was like 6-7 years ago. My last hermit finally died a couple of years back, and I'm tired of buying snails.

Lee, if you get a bloom of them let me know please. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That would be fantastic Lee. I'm not in a hurry or anything, so if we could just work something out for an event we'd both be going to that would be great. I assume you're coming down here for the BOD meeting? If so, how about then? Let me know what you'd like for them.
