I'm markedly unnerved, screw loose, paranoid, grandiose, and otherwise neurotic. I often draw parallels to seemingly unrelated topics based on recent events and ideas in life. Case and point; I'm thinking about the end Cambrian-Ordovician mass extinction event and considering, the cambrian was dominated by brachipods and trilobites, and although the extinction event wiped out half of all Families of these creatures world wide, at the alpha level (habitat level) there is no such reflection of this loss. What I mean is, although tens maybe hundreds of thousands of species were lost during this ME, when you observe Ordovician deposits, you are likely to count the same number and diversity of Families and Genera on a rock specimen that you would from Cambrian rock specimens.
Consider now the parallel (if you can find one to be drawn) between this level bias study and various pathology disciplines we use diagnostically. From the physiological, immunological, endocrinological, to the histological, and down to cytological studies, what important features are we missing in case after case that might be routinely employed as solid diagnostic markers for different conditions and/or diseases? It's an enormous preponderance! Consider in veterinary medicine that blood work is rarely employed as a diagnostic tool simply because the norms have not been established for species other than humans....yeah even for dogs!
What is the next frontier for oncology, for veterinary medicine, for reef aquaria and piscine health? I'm not sure. But sometimes I feel like a legend on a leash at the precipice of a new paradigm. I hope for the sake of my sanity, that one day I will derive some great synthesis...but for now, I've got to get back to studying lol. Just more proof that conventional learning is a hindrance to discovery! lol
    Until next time,
    Andy

lol care to elaborate on that at all? I'm....ughhh IDK....Got a lot of ideas I'm trying to get out there right now, just bear with me. Anybody have anything to say about diagnostic science and thinking in different levels of magnitude? People don't seem to have a hard time understanding this in the context of economics, so if you have any insights in that discipline that apply here as well, chime in!

No idea what you are studying right now but it must be either really great as to stimulate the mind or so mind numbingly boring that you fall into a waking coma arriving at the thoughts of the first post. Interesting though, Shaun

yeah.......me too :/ Never been on meds though you guys. Why start now? Once I have a little bit more free time, these ideas are going to lead to something great!
It's probably less crazy than the narrative. But I've had a hell of a week and you start to wonder what you've done to deserve bad things. You have to shake those thoughts somehow, it's just silly to think that you're being punished. But God works in strange ways, but you have to wonder about all the threads that run together building some type of matrix that we call reality. Its hard being a sort of Christian/existentialist. I have a minor in philosophy and I've been revisiting a bunch of those books; Kant, Descartes, I. Berlin, Thoreau. I hope you guys all know I'm totally harmless. Just an episode of thoughtful considerations.
