I must say everybody maked good points. As far as Calfo the club did do a pretty good job and AJ went through alot of work making flyers and hanging them up and must say thank you to him for that.

As far as the rest of everything goes, I can see the need of wanting a deal on somethings. I am still trying to work on a deal for salt like they do in des moines. See the side problem with that is when you offer one deal then most people want to try to wheel and deal on everything. Not feasible! Great part about most online retailers is they have a warehouse. $3-5 per square foot CHEAP! Retail front $10-15 square foot. Much higher over head. And Im not trying to say everybody will try for deals on everything else but most will try. Believe it or not most places do try to offer a decent price. I have seen several different people say wow these guys are making a killing, I should open a store. Then normally within 1-5 years they file bankruptcy and close, And thats with them working full time else where to help keep the store going. Not saying most places cant try harder to work with club and finding better distributors to offer the new items. But sometimes just impossible to do. For instance brightwell products, to order direct first shipment needed to be $1500, WOW! We dont need that much from one place offering just over a dozen sku's. We could get a distributor to pick it up then they add 20-40% and then our markup makes it double the price of online. I even looked into direct from Octopus to cut middle man and match online retailer. They wanted 5 large there. Not saying this is always the case but unfortunatly most of the time it is.

Not trying to offend anyone here as I like and get along with everyone here. I have learned alot from this club and Ryan.

    Nick,
Would the club having membership cards to show make offering a discount on salt any easier? At least then, you would have something to tell people if they asked, and our club members would have to show proof at the point of purchase. In other clubs, I've heard of them giving across the board discounts to club members...but they have to show a card. Anyway, let us know. I would love to find some kind of motivation to get our members in your store regularly and a discount on salt could be just the thing.

Ive been working on dad for awhile about it. The salt would be one of them deals like in des moines. Get everyone together and buy a pallet and just pick it up right away when it comes in. Anymore it seems to be instant ocean people seem to be using. As far as the other discounts I dont know. Just trying to get some thing worked out to get it started. I know I see lots of girs members but I am also the only one that recognizes or knows who everybody are.

One thing that might help is a price list that people are paying for on the group buy in des moines. I am also now on days at the store. If we got more people in in the evenings and making it clear (without sounding special) they are a member of girs members to show how many of them are part of the club would pry help out. I think the only ones dad knows are is AJ, Troy, the Jeremys and maybe Eric. He dont relize that half the people that drive to town are also part of girs. So in saying people, come on in and proudly display your girs shirts.
