First I want to thank Newbeme and his wife for making the 1hr 1/2 trip to come to the meeting today. I feel bad that no one else could make it, I hope you learned some thing that you can use on your tank when you get home. Hope you enjoy the frags and the gift certificate. Again thank you for your time I enjoyed talking tanks with you and your wife.
That leads me to the fact that due to lack of participation I am going to step down as the QC trustee. With my new job I can no longer devote the time to set things up, and try to put things together!
If Matt would like to step up that would be great. I'm sure he would do fine. But thats up to him!
Again sorry to the QC area I was hoping things would get better.

Wow, that sucks Rick. Sorry to hear that. It's odd because when I first got involved with this club, the QC area was probably the strongest of all the regions... Now it's like pulling teeth to get anyone to participate at all.

Thanks to you (and Andrew before you) for giving it a go... Hopefully participation in the QC area will turn around as some point, but who knows what it will take.

I am sorry to hear this rick. Although i only met you once at the last meeting, you were an extremely nice guy.

i had panned on coming today but some unforseen circumstances didnt allow for it.
I do hope this isnt the end of the QC chapter because for me it is an oppertunity to get to know a lot of you and get answers to my many questions.

Rick, we had a great time. I learned more at this meeting than any of the others I have been to. It's amazing how much a person can do for them selves with a patients and some skill. I'll never be on your level, but if any thing comes up I feel confident that I could give it a go. I'll keep you informed on our tank decision.
I'll say that for the amount of people that expressed interest and then no one showing up was really a downer. Not even a call or anything. Pretty sad! When a person doesn't have a lot of free time and they take the time to set up all the equipment you did Rick I could see why you are disappointed and stepped down. No fault of your's and I don't blame you.

I know that its nice out and members have things to do out side and I'm cool with that, but so do I and I spent some time setting things up and getting things ready, instead of spending time with my family, so yeah I'm a little disipointed. We had a great turn out last month so I dont feel that the area is dead by no means, I just cant no longer devote my time, I will still participate in meetings and such but not to set things up.
Thanks to everyone that has shown support, attended meetings, and made the club what it is today and please keep moving forward!!!
    Thanks -Rick-

yes you are a great asset to the group and it does take much more time than most people realize. And I do appologize for being one of the people to commit initially and I am bummed that I did not make it since I had a few items I wanted to pick your brain about. I am glad that you are just stepping down and not out. Keep up the good work!
Also, I was one of the people that was going to donate some coral to the library tank and was going to bring them with me today. What type of time period do you need them? Just let me know.

    Rick,
    sorry about everything..

What I will do is as follows.... I don't have any life until after may 15, when my big event is finished- I am bringing the string master of Trans-Siberian to play a concert with 160 or so students from the QC area. I can't do anything on reef club planning till then, as I am in the gauntlet run right now negotiating contracts, donors, etc..... Rick and AJ were warned about this event and me disappearing before I took the back up role. (if you saw the algae on my tank walls, you would understand how busy I am... ha ha)

    BUT, the good news...
When that is done, I will gladly get to planning some stuff for this summer..

If someone wants to take the lead on May's meet-up until I am back in 100% Then we can plan some cook outs, tank tours, talks, etc. Or if you want to make The DM festival the May activity, I am happy with that.

Oh crud; I read this way late. Sorry I missed that one Brad; I really wanted to get your acrylic advice, but they cut my foot up that week. I *thought* I could make it, but the tank tour in CR the day before wiped me /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif.

The meetings I've been to in QC have been awesome; I sure hope they continue.
