Making the Switch to LEDs

Hello everyone…thanks again for stopping by our forum.
Just wanted to share an article regarding LEDs…
As we all probably know, there is not only a lot of new and exciting LED products now available to the market, but also much more information and data regarding them. I have dealt with many hobbyists and dealers that pretty much have the same concerns about switching from Metal Halides to LEDs… “Will I get the same growth?” – “will I be able to get the same color out of my corals?” – “Can I grow SPS?”
The answers to these questions were never clear or confirmed. Fortunately, with market feedback, competent data from reputable dealers and hobbyists, and more importantly, a longer history of LEDs in general, we can now make better evaluations of the different LED Products and Technologies.
From my experience, LEDS have definitely been progressing and technology as well as pricing have become more agreeable to the average hobbyist. AquaIllumination LEDs have definitely been at the forefront since LEDs started hitting this market. And I am happy to say that the feedback we have been getting from AquaIllumination Products has been quite positive. With the AI’s controllability, Powerful LEDs, and Upgradeability, AquaIllumination LEDs are a great option for those who are serious about making the switch.

Good article. Few questions someone might be able to answer for me. I am currently using AI's LED's so I don't have any red or green. Is there any documented benefits to using them colors as apposed to just the white and blue? Also is there any benefit to changing the light timing and intensity to simulate change of season?
