male seahorse for sale

I've had a male reidi seahorse since last december that i've decided to part with.. breaking down my 28g nano cube and he's the only thing that wont be able to transfer into my 125g. Any interest from anyone? I'll get pictures posted relatively soon. He's a wonderful eater with a great personality.

 

I've kept him without problems in about 78 degree water since I had it mixed with a few other small slow moving fish (mandarin goby, purple firefish, and hector's goby) and a few corals. I wouldn't put them in a tank over 78 degrees but the big issue is keeping them separated from faster aggressive eaters. Tangs would be included in this category. Additionally, they do have a secretion (I believe it's sugar based) that encourages some algae growth on them - this can cause nipping from algae eaters like tangs. I have to completely turn off the powerheads in the tank and have a feeding tray that I drop mysis into (I'll throw that in with him as well). He's a very good eater, but seahorses are quite slow and deliberate.

Some additional information:
I'm located in downtown Des Moines and don't have a certain price in mind - the first reasonable offer that has a sound setup for him will get him. He's a captive born sea horse that I got from Adam's in December for either $100 or $120. They get their seahorses (at least they did at the time) from ORA. And I apologize that I said he was a Reidi (that's how it was sold at Adam's), however it is almost certainly a Kuda. He was originally yellow when I got him, however the black background in my nano cube has caused him to darken significantly. With a brighter background (like blue) he should turn back to yellow.

The two pictures where he is more yellow are from April and the one where he is darker is from June. He's even a little bit darker now than he was in June. Let me know if you have any questions.
