I have no idea what marinegeek.com is.
I saw them at Macna. They had a huge booth and gave away a huge tank. They were staffed to the gills at all times. I assumed they were a store like marinedepot or whatever.
So I go to their site and they don't sell anything. It doesn't appear to be anything really. Possibly a message board? They seem to have a lot of money to be advertising and what not. I'm confused. I don't understand the business model.
Does anyone have any idea what the deal is with marinegeek.com?

Yep, if you signed up for their forum at Macna, you got free t-shirts, a re-useable bag and a couple other small things.......

I know this is a bit late for a response, but i figured why not respond.
We are an online forum community dedicated to saltwater. We do not sell anything, but offer monthly giveaways, as incentives for hobbyists. The founding members of the site are hobbyists and they know how expensive this hobby is, so they do the giveaways as a way to give back to the hobbyist.
Our business model is pretty simple, we promote the site and our sponsors. we welcome new members to share their aquarium keeping experiences, with our members, and we value each and every member and contributor to our site.
In addition we also like to support local aquarium clubs. we offer separate giveaways for clubs, in an effort to allow clubs to make money [IMG]
I hope this clears up some of your confusion, and we would love to have you as members over at marinegeek.com! Once again great job Girs for your presentation of macna 2011
any other questions please feel free to contact me at info@marinegeek.com
    Thanks
