I have 5 gallon buckets marked on the outside with graduation marks to show 1 gallon, 2, 3, ........ Used a marker for it.

In a u-tube video I saw a couple days ago, I noticed the person had marked the INSIDE of the bucket. I thought that was a much smarter idea - visually anyway. I was wondering if this would be ok - or if it would be a problem from any chemicals in the marker - coming off into the water -although the water is not in the bucket more than a couple minutes at a time ?????

I would think it would be fine with a permanent marker. Have floated bags that were marked for years with no issues.

I got the idea of marking the inside of buckets after I ended up swapping buckets with JustinS who had marked one of his. I went ahead and marked all of my water change buckets this way. It helps significantly.

I just superglued on some scrap pvc inside at various measurements. Has held so far.
