    Where are the pics with those sweet new metal halides I just sold you?! I can't wait to see how your tank looks with them hovering over it. It's going to be bright /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

    Those look really high, Matt! How far from the water surface are they? The color really makes your tank pop! But maybe I'm biased /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/wink.gif

    I guess the angle makes it look higher. Are the lights too bright for your room? I had a shield in my canopy while I worked on the tank because the lights were so bright

    they're a comfortable glow, and I was thinking of doing a canopy/shield to reflect back in and contain the light better, but I love it and it lights my whole room!

    When I first got those lights and tested them I wanted to switch all of the bulbs in my house to 15k. It really makes colors pop.

    I have the lights now running on a cycle
    7-8 am dual actinic
    8-9:30 am-daylight/actinic
    9:30 am-5 pmMetal Halide
    5-6:30 pm daylight/actinic
    6:30-8 pm dual actinic
    8:00 pm-7:00 am white led's
    goes basically through this and lightens and
    darkens according to the time of day, shorter
    mh in winter longer mh in summer
