@Zach: Will you be near Ames anytime or be going to the meeting on the 28th? My primary concern is with my glass tank, of course my acrylic concerns me, but I've been working with it on my sump for weeks now (somewhat calming my fears). I don't have the apropriate hole saw for the glass and I'd like to avoid purchasing it, plus glass makes me nervous. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/crazy.gif

Sorry!!! I just had seen your response.I may have a 3\8 I will look when we get back home Sunday night. As far as the glass I have saws from 1/2 up to 2inches all within 25 cuts or so. I do glass drilling for coralville bay occasionally. The main question is where you want the hole and that is that side tempered. Acrylics a cake walk just don't let it craze.

I will be in dem for the August 2 meetnup but we also make trips out to pella once a month or so. Cold plan a stop out then

As for a 3/4" bulkhead, it's typically a 1.5" hole. I have a regular hole saw for my acrylic tank, and similar it would be a 1.5" hole for the glass?

First I want to find a 15 Tall Glass aquarium and have that drilled rather than my current 10 Leader. 15 Tall is the maximum size I can get on my shelf. For my setup the hole would be on the right side toward the back.... I don't believe standard glass aquariums are tempered on the side? If / when they are tempered... it's usually the bottom?

Drilling glass is something I don't want to mess with, I'd gladly make the trip to Coralville to have somebody who's comfortable do it. So as soon as I find a 15 Tall, I'll be looking for ya.

Oh gotcha. Yeah half inch hole for a three quarter bulkhead. Yeah just me know when you find the 15 and I unusually available anyway after 1400.
