    tis the season,can't wait to get out and start looking!
    looks like the weather is shaping up and i think this could be a very good year

    I will be out . I am the only one in my family that likes them so i end up selling a bunch and usually end up with 20+ lbs. they are like gold around

    i need to find them first,my spots have been just so so the last 2 years but i really think this will be a good year. if i find a good hall of them this year i will let you know.

    I've always wanted to try these but I don't know anyone that hunts them /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/sad.gif

    you can often times find them at open air markets durring the season.

    I picked up 15 lbs last season... so i'm hoping to do it again this year!!

    We just soaked them well to get all the bugs off, rolled in flour, and fried in butter.

    Stuff them with Grazionos sausage and cheese then bake them. Mmmmm....Im excited!

    I dip mine in egg and then cracker crumbs then fry them bad boys up in butter. Mmmmmmm can't wait! I think i'll go look this afternoon.

    so where does one find said mushrooms.  I have never had them and i have heard they are hard to find this year.  im not asking for your hunting spots, i wouldnt think of it,  what im looking for is what type of places are good place to find them?

    really bad year, depending on where you are I guess, but I found 1!!! yes 1.[​IMG]

    Most people will tell you to look on hills around elm trees.  Hickory Hills is supposedly a good spot but is hunted by lots of folks.
    Just get out in the woods and look around, if you find any kind of mushrooms growing, to me that's a good indicator morels will be there as well.
