So I have two MP10's in my 75 gallon reef tank along with a return and another koralia 3. My question is, as my SPS corals are starting to grow quite large, what is the best orientation/location for the MP10's to be facing? Right now I have them on oppositte ends of the tank pointing right at each other. I am wondering if I should place on lower then the other so the wont be fighting each other or if there is a better place for them to be set up. I am also considering purchasing another MP10 and placing it on the back wall to add more flow to the overall tank. Any ideas or suggestions?

I have my 40s the same way. I feel it causes random current in the tank.

That is what I tried to tell my dad, but he believes that it cause the vortech to reduce the efficiency of each other that way. I believe it helps to create more random turbulent flow which is what I believe is what you should strive for in a reef tank.

Best I can tell you is if your sps are growing well which I know they are, why try and change anything?

I have two mp10s in my 60g cube I have them both on the back glass facing forward, I have one high and one low.. And they synced so they dont work against each other..

Well Mike my SPS colonies are doing really well, but they are starting to get to the point where their size is blocking flow to other corals. so i repostion them to try and correct this. But possibly adding another MP10 to the back wall like BigB1 said might be a viable solution.

Sounds to me its time to do some pruning. I wish I had your problem.

Of course we do! But the larger these SPS colonies get, the more flow the begin to obstruct from other corals in the tank. I had some of Zoa's recede due to restricted flow and 2 of my birdnest lost alot of flesh in the denser parts of the colonies.

So frag it! Make some extra money to put back into the tank! Duh! /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/wink.gif
