MP40s and drivers for sale

    I have decided to bite the bullet and purchase the MP60's. Prior to doing so, I will need to unload some stuff to raise capital (wife would kill me otherwise)
    What I have is 2 MP40W-ES Vortech pumps. I have been using these for less than 3 months, both are running on my tank that was set up in November. I also have decided to sell the APEX WXM driver that was purchased to run them that I never had time or patience to set up. In addition, I have the VDM driver for the APEX that I have decided to not use. They are also 3 months old and other than attempting to program the VDM module, have not been used or abused.
    I would like to get $325 for each MP and $100 for the WXM (new $125) and $75 for the VDM (new $100). If someone wanted all 4 items, I would let go for $700. I really can't do trades since I need to keep from getting a divorce.

    I'm not going to tell you not to sell these, but if you go with the MP60s, you'll still want to the WXM. Also, the MP60s are HUGE overkill for your tank. I'm not sure that you'll be able to turn them down enough to make the work for your needs. Give me a call and we can talk about this. I would hate to see you sell these only to get the MP60s, see that they are too big, and then have to spend the money on MP40s again later.

    And did you ever get things straightened out with that DSL router?

    I briefly considered the MP60's for my tank, but instead I am just adding more mp40's. I currently have three, and will be adding a fourth.

    I feel that I can get better coverage with 4 mp40 than with 2 mp 60.

    AJ,

    I appreciate your comments and concerns. I have an oppertunity to purchase the 60's for a great price, I can turn them way down low and be fine now. I am always thinking of the future, and as we know, I already have dreams of the next build. As for the WXM, I am intimidated by the electronics as you know and since the MP's have drivers, what do I gain from it other than more programming. We can talk about it more if you like.

    You gain the ability to set them to different modes at a specific schedule...so maybe you want them to run at Reef Crest during the main part of the day, but at Long Pulse during the overnight hours when the fish are sleeping...and maybe you want to kick them to high for 15 minutes a day to stir up detritus.  Also, you can integrate the Apex feed mode into the Vortechs...so if you use feed mode, that's a nice benefit so you don't have to set feed mode on your Vortechs and your other controlled devices independently.  You're right that the Vortechs give you control, but you just get a higher level of control and better integration with your WXM.  And if you don't keep it, I want it and I'll send the one that I have coming from AquaCave back.

    YOu guys have convinced me that I would be making a big mistake for all your reasons. I appreciate your stopping me. I will keep the setup I have and add more 40's if needed. This deal was too good to pass.

    I think you're doing the right thing. And sorry to whoever the potential purchaser would have been...Chad priced them quite reasonably and somebody would have gotten a steal!

    lol. yep.. but i push enough water with 4 kor. 8s i think that is enough .. but the wires due suck !!!!!
    but im pushing 12,800 gal. with only 80 watts thats good to me..
