I seen a post about cleaning posts with this acid, anyone ever tried it or have any opinions on it?

I used it on my 220. Worked fantastic . I diluted 2 gallons with 220 gallons of water and next morning everything was nice and like new . Very little scrubbing.

Muriatic acid is nasty stuff. Never let it get in contact with metals or yourself. The fumes alone are caustic and can eat away at clothing and will irritate mucus membranes . This is a garage activity only, NOT AN IN DOOR PROJECT!
This stuff will also pit concrete and other masonry stuff and corrode outlets on the ceiling in the garage that your working under. You've been warned. Dun dun dunnnn.

That being said, expect fast results. Just as an example. This stuff diluted 1:1 will eat a brass fitting off a pvc pipe in about 20 minutes... I know because I needed to replace a brass fitting and didn't want to drive to town to replace the pvc.

I feel I should also add, don't open the jug down in front of you, open it out in front of you, if that makes sense? The fumes rise quickly. Basically don't have your head above the jug.

Muriatic Acid is just another name for Hydrochloric Acid. We used it to remove hard water stains from our pool, put on a rag on a stick and scrubbed stains off underwater. Rags lasted only a few minutes. Also takes hard water stains and limescale off showers. Its really. nasty. stuff.

I should add that I had this diluted basically 100:1 . I had no smell issues and I also had my hands on it with no effects. And it didn't etch the concrete on my driveway when I drained it also.

It's totally safe, if you treat it like a harsh chemical and use common sense.

It eats through coralline, mineral stains, dried algae, etc. But doesn't eat through the aquarium or silicone.

Works maybe a thousand times better than vinegar? Maybe a million times better? ;)

Very effective as long as you treat it with caution and apply common sense to your behavior when you handle it.
