That really sucks. So much work into that thing only to never see it up and running. Best of luck finding a new tank to replace it.

Wow, so much hard work lost. Sorry to hear about it Matt. I was really looking forward to seeing that beast filled with corals! Here are a few quotes I received while shopping for 300 gallon tanks this winter. Yours might be slightly different but it should get you within ball park so you will know what you are getting into.

Marineland 300G DD with Starphire front: $1975-$2000
Reef Savvy: 300G external overflow eurobraced with Starphire front: $4200
Miracles: 300G with internal rectangular overflow with Starphire front: $2925 delivered to ABF Freight in Ankeny

Looking good. That frag tank probably shouldn't be used long-term, the idea was make it strong enough to be used during a show for a couple days but without a eurobrace you might have problems long term. Just watch the seams.

And I have to say - that 40B above your sink? Insane. I would never put a tank on a shelf like that, man that's an accident waiting to happen!! The support you have on that is no where near enough for the weight IMO, that's 400lb and if it comes down while you're at the sink, you are dead. Is there something I'm not seeing in that picture?

I think you should be designing light holders for AI. Those are awesome. They need to see what a nice light support should look like.

Its less then 300lbs and each pair of brackets is rated for 300lbs and there is 2 pairs so 600lbs. we use these brackets at work for shelves to store spare motors on them and the motors add up to way more then 300lbs and they have been installed longer then I have worked there

Sting Ray tank is going in the main room in the basement where the entertainment center is at now. I need to refinish the stand and drill the tank for a closed loop yet so it will be a little bit before I have it up and running

I really am impressed with the water heater idea!!! Can you give more details about it and how you managed to get it to work? I have been planning a 480 gallon build for myself and really want to do something like that.
