My take on fall fest.

So now that things have settled down I thought I would share some of my thoughts on fall fest. First I want to thank everyone that was involved from the planning stages,setting up, tearing down and working the show. You people are what really made this happen and I can not thank you enough.  Over all I feel things went really good, the venue was really nice and spacious and that along with the speakers having their own room was really nice.  Attendance could of been better but that is one thing that just can not be controlled.
  Things I would do differently. I would definitely have vendors prepay next time, it avoids having one more thing to do at the show and when some are not able to show we at least have their money since we reserved a space for them and perhaps had to turn someone else away.  Another thing I would do is make sure the place had WIFI or at least cell coverage, that was really the biggest issue we had at this show and was really a pita for our vendors.
  Now we had a few people register with us at the show using the paper form and paying in cash, this is another problem because with so much to do  and having 1 more thing to keep track of can become problematic, have a laptop setup with internet access and help folks through the registration process this way.  Now they are registered with no delay.
 Finally, ask more questions.  There were a few things I had done that was not normal practice and mostly because I did not know any better and felt it was the correct way of doing things.
 Anyway thanks again too everyone that was available to help and everyone that was able to attend.
Oh one thing I would not change is having a venue that has its own concessions, really was helpful since it was one less thing to worry about.
