I am looking at trying to stack my tanks 90 on top 210 on the bottom I am putting them in a 7foot wall (my header is on that wall stopping me from 9feet) I will have about 12 inches above my 90gal. for my AI's . My 210 is 29.5 inches tall. Here is where I am looking for advice or imput. I am going to use my 125 Oceanic Tank for my sump. My question is my 210 will only be about 10 to 12 inches off the floor give or take a inche. Needing space between my two tanks for my lights for the 210. I am looking at side drilling my sump for my overflow. (will that give me enough overflow head pressure to fill my sump and recycle back to my return. I am also thinking about having my 90 overflow dumping into my 210)

Is this gonna be like that lionfish tank they did on tanked? Cause that was sick and i love the idea. Honestly i dont know how you would rig that together though and its tough to see what ya mean without drawings or some kind of visual. One hole in your sump for your return pump is all you need. You just gotta figure out how much gph your running and find an appropriate sized pump. Idk how youd go with the structure aspect of that though.

I am trying to picture this.

I am assuming it will come out the bottom of the 210, and into the side of the sump?

If so, yes the water pressure will force the water into the sump. However, it may be a little bit of a slower drain, and it may also be noisy.

can you do a sketch of what you're thinking? Would you run the water level in the sump above where the returns dump in the side?
If you dump under the water level I think you would want some way to vent the pipe so you don't end up with an air lock. If i'm envisioning it correctly.

Quick Drawing is this kind of what your talking about Rod? 210 will have to have around 6" from floor I think. Give or take a few inches. This will give you 12" +/- a few inches. After making the Drawing I put pump in wrong place , but give you a pictures of what he is thinking I think. Rod you have have to fill in blanks a little. Hope this helps

Ya Kyle that is close to what I want to do. Except the 210 will be under the 90 and my 125 sump will be off to the side with the over flows going in the south end and my return coming from the north end. Ya Craig that was my biggest fear is the speed of the overflow might be to slow I will have to do some more checking on this Thanks Guys for the imput
