  2. Good luck finding them local! I looked everywhere. The ended up ordering them weekly from sachs.

    I think I was paying a little over $50 for 200.

Also a couple times I received some DOA and they sent me a batch of 200 for free. Just had to pay $13 for shipping.

Just curious what are you feeding?

We have tons in our sump but will lose most this weekend with the tank transfer. Do you think just saving the chaeto/macro algae will ensure they seed the new tank or should I syphon some out to be sure?

You are welcome to get some but probably not worth the drive to Des Moines.

  5. Mysid are tough to keep, they eat each other. Someone at the fest was telling me about some red cherry shrimp? I think he said they were called. Either way he said they are really easy to breed and keep. I was gonna look into doing it but I was able to ween the cuttle to eat frozen krill now.

I would siphon out as many as you can, throw them in 5 gallon bucket with cheato & you will get a good start again.

They are only tough if you try to culture them in a separate container, and even then there are some tricks. In a system once they are introduced into a refugium, they will go forever.

If you want to try, I'll trim back my cheato and bag it for you. Not sure how many will be in there, but my sump is full of mysis and pods.
