I have a two gallon fluval spec I did some modifications to for saltwater. I primarily use purigen and chemipure elite pouches in the back for filtration with a thin piece of filter pad over the top of them. I installed a stronger pump than the stock and got some LED lighting thats working well. I do about a 10% water change ever week and add water as needed due to evaporation. The key with a tank this small is constant water changing/monitoring because even small changes can have a big impact on the water column. Current inhabitants are a turbo snail, pom pom crab, and a tiger goby (not tiger watchman goby). The thing to also keep in mind is that there are very few fish that are capable of being in such a small tank, there are a handful of goby species and a couple blenny types that come to mind. I've included the post to photos of it below.

That looks pretty cool. I'm not sure why I want one so bad but I might as well try one. I've got a few 2 gallon plastic tanks and a 2.5 gallon glass tank. I really like the glass tank but I was thinking of sumping it so make it a mini setup. Just not sure about drilling glass that thin lol. I could drill the plastic tanks pretty easy probably and use the glass cube for a sump? I have looking for a few days online at lights. I was LED but not sure exactly what I need?? Leaning towards a single Par38 right now...

I settled on this one after springfest and it is doing quite well. For filtration I modded an aquaclear 70 into a refug with cheato, charcoal, rubble and a thin filter pad. The light and filter are not nearly sufficient for any saltwater setup, so I also went witha par38 bulb. At 6 inches above the water, I was getting PAR readings upwards of 450 in the middle of the tank on the sandbed, 130 being the very least at the edges of the tank. The zoa garden is doing well, but a few of the zoa's skirts are turning clear/whispy white due to lack of nutrients. I do a half gallon WC every week and a half due to the low bio load, and really want a simple ato because it is easy to fall behind on top offs.

i actually had the tank i wanted which was a 2.5 gallon glass cube. but then remembered I had a few of these smaller 2 gallon plastic tanks with the built in led lights. So i drilled the tank for dual overflow and dual return and used the glass cube tank for the sump. got a 200 gph pump returning water. works like a charm. i'm not gonna do much else to it right now until i get my new tank up and going. but this will be a neat little setup once i get the light upgraded
