I just wanted to introduce Nebraska Aquatic Supply to the GIRS members and tell you a little about us and myself.  I have been a hobbyst for over 9 years and have a passion for collecting rare wrasses, I use the screen name huskerreef on most forums.  During this time I traveled quite a bit with my business and had the chance to see a lot of LFS around the country, some awesome and some not so much, but I was always frustrated with the LFS in my area and felt there was a better way to do it.  So about 8 months ago an opportunity to sell my business came about and it was time to take life in a new direction and open my own LFS.  For the first couple weeks after I decided to sell my wife would ask me "what are you going to do for a job now?" and would reply that I was opening a fish store, this was followed by, "no seriously, what are we going to do for income"  and I would reply with the same answer, I am going to open a fish store /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/laugh.gif.  After about a week a friend asked my wife what we were going to do after the sale of my business and she replied " I guess we are opening a fish store" /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/unsure.gif.   I contacted what I felt was one of the best fish guys in town and asked him if he would be interested in coming to work for me and could a LFS be a viable business and he replied yes to both, of course he was unemployed at the time, lol.    I wanted a store that had a large selection of livestock and coral, a good selection of equipment and supplies and most importantly it had to look nice and have a lot of displays for people to get inspired by.  We opened in Omaha Labor Day weekend and have been well recieved in everything that we have done.  Currently we have over 6000 gallons on water loaded with fish, coral and plants.  We also have a QT room that houses 29 tanks that are divided into 53 seperate systems with over 1100 gallons of water.  We also have 48 sqaure feet of coral propogation set up.  I would also add that we do ship fish and corals if you see something that we have that you want.  We also will match internet pricing on pretty much any piece of equipment we carry or sell, so don't hesitate to give us a shot.   We are located at 4014 South 108th Street in Omaha, our number is 402-934-8206 and we are on facebook http://www.facebook.com/profile.php...6743224836.  We post all of our shipments on FB as well as email it out to those on our email list.  If you want to be included on it shoot me an email at jim@nebraskaaquatic.com.  I look forward to seeing you all in Omaha some time.

    Jim

I wanted to stop by your store today, since I was already in Omaha to visit the zoo. My daughter doesn't travel well, so the zoo was the one and only stop we were permitted. Hopefully we can make it down your way again soon. I have similar feelings about the LFS selection within 100+ miles of Sioux City, so I find myself ordering 95% online. I would love to be able to support someone locally. I'm looking forward to stopping in on our next trip down.
