   I just lost another 400w ballast thought i would check to see if anyone had one sitting around they would get rid of for the right price any brand, will pick up.

   I have one. How does $75 sound? I don't know the brand so I don't know if that's a good price or not, but I see generic ones going for $125 and this one is in great shape and appears to be very solid.   It's a magnetic ballast. Notice the quick disconnect on the cord and the wire ends where the cord would connect to the socket.   Also note that it's very clean...no salt residue or rust.  Here's some pics:
