    One
of the pieces of Coral I got at Frag Fest is starting to look not so
good.  I think it is come kind of a closed brain, but not sure.  The
colors are starting to fade and looks like it is starting to shrivel
up.  I'd like any help on identifying for sure what it is and thus the
environment it needs.  I've moved it several times in my tank from low
to high to medium placement, and from low to higher flow.

Tanks is 75 gallon with T5's.  Water parameters are all good.  Everything else is doing fine.

(The photo makes it look better than I think it looks).

Jeanette, I don't see a picture. I think closed brains are usually very high light corals. Someone correct me if I am wrong as I don't have one. So where is its placement. When I have asked you about params in the past everything has been in line? IS that still true? How is your Calc and Alk?

Joel - yeah all water parameters are good.  Calcium 400, alkalinity 9, Nitrates 0, phosphate 0, salinity 1.025-1.026.
Here's the picture (hopefully).  This is the first time I've posted a picture on the site.  Maybe I'm not doing something right - as I did the same steps now as when I first set up the topic.  The picture displayed initially.

It looks like a favites to me. IME, it does well at the bottom of the tank. If you are having problems with it other than water quality, try shading it for a few weeks to see if it bounces back.

Cool! I must be getting a little better, that is exactly what I was going to identify it as and recommend. Although I was going to say just move it to the bottom, shading sounds like an excellent idea.

Great.  Thanks for the suggestions.  I'll move it to a shady spot and watch it closely the next 2 weeks.
