I am wanting to add a kalk stirrer to the system and not quit sure how to do it correctly. I was hoping to use it as top off. I have a 15 gallon tote now with a gravity feed float valve in my sump. What/how do i do it? what pump if any is recommened? Just hoping for some direction.

With mine my ATO pump comes on and puts that water into the kalk stirer which spins the mixer then that water goes into my sump.

I don't have mine set up yet, actually it hasn't been delivered yet, but I bought an avast marine kalk stirrer. What I am doing is running a BRS 50ml top off dosing pump. This will pull from my reservoir and pump into my kalk stirrer and from there it will gravity feed back to the sump.

Theres a couple of different ways you could do it but we need to know if you are getting a sealed kalk reactor like the PM brand or a gravity feed like the avast marine. If it is a gravity feed reactor it needs to be higher than the sump to function properly.
If it is a pressurized type it can be above or below the sump. Using a pump to feed it or just put it in-line below your 15 gal tote before your float valve in your sump with the stirrer on a timer to mix the kalk a few times a day.

The gravity feed ones will always need a pump or solenoid valve to feed them with DI water.

Is 1 better then the other? It can sit high or low depending on the stirrer. I was thinking about the avast k1000.
