need help

    i have used a power head from a friend who had algae i thought i clean it but i was wrong i got it and it is moving fast it looks like hair algae how do i make it go away please helpi have a 75g tank RR

    I'm not sure I follow..are you saying that you purchased a used powerhead and some algae from the previous owner has now taken root in your system? Algaes feed off of nitrates, phosphates and light. You can't turn off the lights for long, but you can fix your phosphates and nitrates. Read this:

    That will help control it, but I would recommend to address the root cause instead.  Just my opinion.
