Define waterproof. How deep do you need to go? Is this for your tank or for scuba?

You can get new waterproof digitals for well under $100, but if you want something really designed to take pictures underwater, look for a used Sealife camera on eBay.

I got a waterproof enclosure for my Cannon Powershot for around $150 and it's been great for general purpose shots (snorkeling, water parks, etc.) I have yet to attempt to us it for my tank so I can't report on how well it works for that. The camera itself is a small point and shoot so most of the limitations are limitations of the camera itself.

I have one of these for my Canon Power Shot.  You can get some pretty nice shots with it but is a bit tricky to access the buttons to change the settings on your camera.
Most of the shots in my gallery are taken with it here.  Damn, time for some new pics, those are getting pretty old now.

Here's the one that I got for my camera. There's pros and cons to all of the underwater enclosures...pro for this is that it gives full access to all controls. Cons are that it's large, I have to remove the wrist strap to get the camera in (the case has it's own straps, a wrist strap and a neck strap), it's specifically for just this camera, and it was fairly expensive (around $150 I think).

Well, it was a couple of years ago and I don't think they even make the camera anymore. It's the Canon PowerShop SD850is. It's been a good camera, but I don't know how to use it as well as I'm sure I could. I'll see about getting some coral pics for you with it.
