I showed someone at the LFS a video of it and he thought it might be a type of anemone that is a pain to get ride of once established. The tenticles of the polyp looked more green on my phone than they do in person or in the video online. they are actually a light blue. There are at least 2 more on the underside now extending. they do retract on their own.

If they are a coral and not the anemone that is a pain to keep in the tank due to stinging then i want to keep them.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hard to see in video, could be majono nem. They can look pretty cool, I had one on a frag I got once and glowed green and looked nice

But got rid of it cause could spread a lot. Try snapping a closer pic for an better Id. If it looks like a small nem and you have no nems and it just poped up its Probly a majano

not really. his tentacles come from the inside of the polyp. I'm looking at him now a bit closer. he is heavily in crusted into the rock. I will get my photo camera out later and take a pic.

Bboge I believe you have nailed it. thanks for your response. I found some on the net that look identical. a lot more are showing signs of life. my tank just finished cycling today. ammonia is at zero and nitrates are looking good. must be why thy are waking up.

time to research them and see if I need to pull them. if they stay put and don't get to large I might keep them. I can plant coral away from them if they aren't aggressive spreaders./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/w00t.gif

From what I know and have read they are fine. I have one or two in my tank.

I've noticed them before in my tanks. They've always stayed small and never really spread. Not a bad thing IMO.

Thanks Lee. there are at least 9 of them opening up now in 2 basic cluster groups. my tank just finished cycling and the parameters must be favorable for things to finally show themselves.

I'd erraticate it. I've had bad experiences with plauge anemones.

I'm going to get a better pic. I can't tell if they are ball or strawberry. they are popping up all over the rock now that my tank has cycled.
