Need XP SP2 or SP3 installation CD

    I am setting up a laptop for my son and my XP installation CD will not load. I am getting a memory error and my research has identified I need a SP2 or SP3 version,(my version is prior to that). Does anyone locally have one that I can borrow to get this running for him? I have a key so this is not pirating.

    I've got a disc but I don't have the key code (or any idea if it is post sp2 or 3?) but it's yours if you want to give it a shot. You'll have to swing down to IC friday or sat morning/early afternoon. I would mail it to you too if you want.

    Also you have to match the key code to the type of installation disc. That is, a disc sold as a retail version is different than an OEM version or a volume license version. The codes that correspond to one version will not work on another.

    I have what you need Ty. Give me a call I will hook you up. I know I have SP2 for sure. What does your Windows COA sticker on the bottom of the Laptop say and does it have the key code on it? I have been doing computer work for 20+ years on the side. So I still have 3.11 also. lol Let me know

    There are a lot a ways around all that stuff as long as you have sticker. There are ways around with out it also. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default//emoticons/smile.gif legal mind you.

    yah you can do it with a simple registry hack.
