I was wondering if anyone had any success with any hob skimmers and if so what brand/models. I have a 45 gallon tank and am looking to add a skimmer to it. The thing is I have an Emperor 400 and a penguin 150b hob filter hanging on the back so I only have about 9 inches of space along the back of my tank to fit a skimmer. So I need something somewhat narrow. Thanks in advance.

First get rid of the Emperor and Penguin. Then get a god HOB Skimmer like the one Anna has listed right now, it is one of the best ones made (Deltec) and this is an awesome price if she still has it. The Emperor and Penguin will cause more harm than good in the long run.

The Octopus is also a great skimmer. I was assuming you were running the emperor and penguin with some sort of filter floss, but if you are running it only with carbon or phosphate remover that is completely different.

    Hello -
I have a Deltec MCE600 for sale, as Joel mentioned (thank you Joel!!).  Here is a link to info on it: MCE600  I'm asking $190 obo, but I need to sell it as quickly as possible because I'm moving this week.  I have a grey PVC return for it, not the splash/degassing plate shown (that caused salt spray on my lights, and the PVC has worked much better for me).  I'm located in Iowa City.
    Thanks,
