Okay, I really need someone in marion/cr area that would be willing to come help me out with the plumbing for my new 40 breeder. Now that the stand is finished I got the DT set on the stand and realized the plumbing just isn't going to work. It needs to come out a few inches from the back of the DT. Currently it only comes out about half an inch. And the stand comes out about an additional 2 inches from the back of the DT. I'm not handy and I don't have the muscles to make it work. If anyone is willing to donate some of thier time and help a girl out I would greatly appreciate it!! I have never set up a tank with plumbing. And being on the top floor of a condo I really can't afford to have it done wrong. If anyone would be willing please pm me. I'm attaching a few pictures of what I have.

The stand turned out awesome! It's just my opinion but it looks like you will need new bulkheads and fittings to redo this set up. I also have never seen overflows without standpipes for airflow so it doesn't flush constantly. Wish you were closer so I could help out./DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/sad.gif

I think maybe it would be a good idea to have a meeting on plumbing. How to set it up and how it works. Would be great for all of us newbie's to plumbing. Candi has offered to come help me with my set up as she is wanting to learn plumbing herself. So we are hoping between the two of us we can figure it out. Anyway just a thought.

r them bulkheads slip fitting or threaded fitting.if they are glued in you will have to buy new bulkheads first.then bring that pipe out far enough to clear your stand.

They are threaded. But the black elbow piece on the overflow I'm being told is glued. Roman I know you are very close to my place about 10 mins. If you would be willing to help Candi and I out that would be great. Looking at possibly toinght at 630. I think we will just get an idea of what we need to do first tonight. Then I will run out and buy what we need then tomorrow night get it put tonight. Please let me know if you could help us out so we know what we need to do.

What about cutting the vertical straight PVC pieces and coupling them to flex PVC ? I can't tell from the photo if there would be enough flexibility to clear the stand or not.

My advice for any plumbing is to try purple primer it really helps to see you've put enough primer on. And take twice as many couplers, etc. home from the store and return the extras as opposed to being short supplies and having to interrupt construction to go back out.

Huge thanks goes out to Roman!!!!! And Candi for helping out. Roman got it all done in about 10 mins. He just cut the pvc then used a coupler with spa flex tubing. So I'm now all set to get this beast up and running!!! I couldn't be happier that I had some amazing members help me out. I can say enough how much I appreciate it!!!!
