Man i feel so dumb, Maybe im over thinking it i have read through the apex manual about 5 different times and for the life of me i cant figure out how to set up the float switches. What do i go to to set up the programs? and it talks about settting up virtual outlets how do i do that? I have read it over and over and over i think my minds burnt out by now hhahaa. Is there anyone in the Des Moines area thats really good with these things? Id love to see someone elses and see some of their programs

Do you have a breakout box? You need to connect float switches through a breakout box. As far as programming, its dependent on what you are trying to do, but here is the switch programming for my ATO pump. Switch1 is the float switch in my return chamber.

    Fallback OFF

    Set OFF

    OSC 000:00/010:00/050:00 Then ON

    If Switch1 OPEN Then OFF

The pump is programmed to run 10 minutes every hour. If the water level is good and the switch is up the pump will shut off before the 10 minute time. You could also just run it off the switch itself, but floats can stick so I don't like that route.

Let us know what exactly you are trying to accomplish and I'm sure we can get you all set up and working correctly.

I'm just confused on where I designate what float valve is number 1 and what one is number 2 etc and what numbers on the b/o box are for the float switches or does it matter? After I get the switches labeled what one is 1 and what one is 2 all I do from there is go to the designated outlet that I want them to control and add the setup how ever I want them to controll that pump.

I have one float in my main tank and I want that to shut the main pump off when the eater gets to high in the display so it doesn't flood.. Ten for the second float valve I'm not sure yet what I want that one to do??? Lol

Its all dependent on which input you use. Input 1 will be switch 1, 2 will be 2 and so on.

Go to page 85 on the Neptune manual (download from Neptune website) You need to go to "Module setup" in your Apex web-interface.

First make sure you floats work. Hook one wire to ground on your B/O box then the other to Sw1. Do this for your 2nd switch to hook one wire to ground and the other to sw2. Now your set to use Sw 1 and sw2. lift your floats and make sure you see the switches turn from open to close on your web-interface.

Now create and setup a VM so you can name the float switches

    1. Go to add Module

    2. Pick your module type for virtual outlet I chose DC8

    3. A1 should be in the next box called start control address.

    4. Now hit the add module it will create a bunch of virtual outlets( 8 of them) I used only 2 so I deleted the rest. They will show up like this "Heater-(cntl_A1) Lights-(cntl_A2) and so on in your outlet setup.

    5. Now name them something like you would want to have. ATOSumplow or what ever in your outlet setup

    6. Now program this virtual outlet as you would any other outlet. Refer cntl A1 to use SW1 and cntl A2 to use SW2.

Here is mine, but I have not used it yet,but it gives you an Idea anyway. I struggled with this too,but once you do it you will get it.

    I created a virtual outlet called 75sumplow-(cntl_A1).

    If Switch1 OPEN Then ON

    If Switch2 CLOSED Then OFF

    my other one is ReservLow-(cntl_A2)

    If Switch2 OPEN Then ON

    If Switch2 CLOSED Then OFF

This is as far as I have gotten with my program because I want to do some more programing steps before I use it. I hope you can follow this ok. I have read it 5 times and I just woke up from a nap. lol worked OT today and was tired. lol

Hope this helps! Keep us updated, because this is the part of the hobby I like!
