Never though i would say this but......

    I have decided to switch out my halides for led's. I have been testing out some reefbreeder value fixtures on my frag tank and love the results. Hung one over the display today and love the look and the par is great. So after the swap I'm going all Led's. Probably get the photons for display.

    I think you will love the photons. We have them on our 280 and love them. The 210 and frag tank has value fixtures on them and they are ok but we don't get nearly the growth/color from SPS as under the photons. Obviously there are other factors involved but we are seriously considering losing the value fixtures on that tank.

    I personally did a hybrid led t5 combo love the look and seems to be coloring up the sps better also :)

    I think the best combo I tries so far was an LED/T5 combo. 4 sol blues and a 4 bulb t5 fixture. Seemed to get really good coloration and good growth.

    What bulbs do you use @blackx-runner@blackx-runner?


    I personally use 2 coral plus and 2 blue plus.

    I don't have the t5s up anymore, switched them out for halides. I'm pretty sure there was blue plus and coral plus in there. I may have tried a figi purple as well. I bought several to try out when I was running it.

    I think you may be coming down with something Bill. You better rest up and get better before you do crazy stuff like that lol. ;)

    The electric bill was a killer this summer man and something has to give. Don't worry I will keep my halides for at least 6 months to make sure I don't want to switch back.

    I have a 48" t5 I can run with the leds

    Sounds good. Are you thinking about putting those t5 to supplement for shadowing or do you think the led will be good?
