    Awesome you guys!!! That leaves the biggest issues of getting lights for one tank and protein skimmers for the two! Fantastic!!! I am sure that there are a couple of other things that could be used, but, those are my major focuses right now. I do know I could use some gravel cleaners, food, things like that. I don't know if I actually mentioned this before. It seems that I'm getting so much from you guys and other avenues that it appears I started with nothing. I want to clarify something if it will ease some minds. I did have enough in my budget to start my class with a 10 gallon and a 30 gallon tank. This kind of exploded when I came here and asked for donations because you people are so amazing! Plus, Central Campus donated to very large tanks and that, of course, increased my needs/wants list and very much decreased what I had available in my budget! So, I say all of this to say thank you, again, for everything you've done. From the help, advice, materials, and a couple of cash donations so far, I'm thoroughly in awe of what's been done by this group and I cannot thank you guys enough. /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/biggrin.gif

    I have a 33 gallon trash can of dry rock and a 15-20 gallon tote of sand if interested. I believe it is mostly figi rock with a few pieces of shelf rock. I'm sure I also have food and other various items I could part with.

    Thanks,

    Cory

    Hi! I was asked to list specifically what I have received from folks. The list of things received vs. things offered is quite different. So far, I have spent around $2,000 purchasing supplies. I have also received the following:

    Air, Water, & Ice = 75 gpd RO/DI Unit

    Central Campus = 180 gallon tank with stand, 225 gallon tank with stand, lights, and hood

    Nik, Rocketmann, Danmgray = cash amounting to $175.00 (in school fund)

    Nik = Plumbing for tanks and TIME!

    That is all I have actually received so far.

    I have had the following things offered by the following people. Please understand that I am just listing what has been offered as a way to keep track, NOT to put pressure on anyone. I'm NOT listing those who offered a financial contribution. I am very aware that things happen and not all plans come to fruition. If I list someone who has had a change of situation or heart for items you mentioned, please, PLEASE message me and let me know. I will not be offended or upset. I'm just trying to keep a focused list together so we can see where needs can be met. Thanks!

    Softie = Dry rock

    Thinktank = Dry rock, Sally Lightfoot crab

    Turbo = Algae Scrubber, cheap live rock

    Marcus = Shrimp hatchery, 40 gallon high, possibly a breeding pair of clowns

    Lee = VHO retro lights, 175W Halides, 20 gallon frag tank

    Woo's = box of corals

    Tickyty = Filters for the 30 gallon

    Jazzybio = starters, nanno, rotifers, live brine

    Ctrenary = Dry rock, sand

    Sponge = Heaters, Time & Temp, Mag float, pump, ph/EC/TDS meter, Test kits, Pinpoint salinity monitor, live sand and seed rock, books

    Nik = Mag 12, Internal pump, 10 gallons of substrate, Test kits, nets

    Feel free to let me know if you think I've missed anything. I went through every PM and post on this thread to make sure I had everything written down right before I posted. I hope I've not missed anyone or anything. I'd not do that, intentionally. Thanks, everyone for the help you've given and offered! You've been great!

    /DesktopModules/ActiveForums/themes/_default/emoticons/shocked.gif sad news regarding the crab. I know things happen, though. I appreciate the offer! I can probably pick up the rock some time in the next couple of weeks. Weekends or evenings will be best after next week because I'm doing a research project at ISU starting July 8th.

    I forgot to mention. I have someone willing to pick up donations in the Des Moines, Newton, and Grinnell areas. I live in Ames and teach in Boone, so, I can pick up anything in those areas. I could use a couple of large storage (tanks?) for fresh and salt water, if anyone has one cheap or free. Thanks!

    You might want to contact local ag suppliers, specifically dairy suppliers. Up in Sioux Falls, we use Midwest Livestock Systems, they give away the empty 55 gal hydrogen peroxide barrels. Work great for surge towers, salt mixing tanks and RODI storage.
